History of DavisConnects

DavisConnects was made possible by a $25-million gift from the Davis family and a trustee of its charitable foundation, Andrew Davis ’85, LL.D. ’15, in April 2017. Andrew Davis’s commitment to Colby has included serving as a trustee from 1996 to 1999 and as a College overseer from 1999 to 2006.

The Davis family provided a $10-million lead gift to construct the Davis Science Center on Colby’s campus. Their commitment to high-quality, life-changing global experiences has been felt worldwide through such initiatives as the Davis United World College Scholars Program and the Davis Projects for Peace. At present, the Colby campus is home to 60 United World College Scholars, and nearly 250 claim Colby as their alma mater.

History of Grossman Hall

Grossman Hall is the new home of DavisConnects. Re-opened in fall 2017, the former residence hall was reimagined into state-of-the-art administrative space.

The 8,600-square-foot hall was expanded with a 4,300-square-foot, two-story addition, which has received a coveted LEED Platinum certification. Grossman is a destination for students on campus with the goal to make post-graduate planning an integral part of life at the College.
