The Development Associate provides administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Development and Neurosciences Major Gift team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The Development Associate will play a key role in supporting a dynamic team focused on managing high level activities in a complex environment. The Development Associate is managed by the Assistant Vice President and will provide support to three Directors of Development.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively participate in and coordinate various projects including event planning, mailings, and discovery calls to engage donors.
- Prepare, proofread, and edit documents and correspondence to ensure high-quality communication.
- Manage team activities in the fundraising database with accuracy and timeliness, adhering to established data entry standards.
- Maintain and organize both paper and electronic files in accordance with office protocols, ensuring easy retrieval and secure storage of documents.
- Proficient use of core office software tools such as MS Office, to conduct activities such as list reviews and mail merges, and other administrative duties.
- Assist in organizing and supporting virtual and in-person meetings, including maintaining team calendars and scheduling appointments.
- Facilitate gift-booking process of gifts with fundraisers and the Gift Processing Office consistent with protocols.
- Field routine phone calls, taking accurate messages and responding to inquiries in a professional manner.
- Book travel arrangements including accommodations, flight, and ground transport.
- Prepare and document expenses to support reimbursement reports consistent with contracts.
- Event planning including briefings, mailings, RSVP tracking, and event staffing (set up, registration, clean up).
- Occasional night and weekend hours supporting development activities.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of development experience or related experience (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superb organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
