Campus Funding Sources for Education/Social Impact!

Many Colby students have applied for funding for Social Impact/Education experiences. These include internships, independent studies, and beyond! We especially encourage applying for opportunities for JanPlan or the summer. Below are some on-campus sources you can apply to for funding your experience. As always, you are welcome to come to DavisConnects to flesh out your ideas, receive funding advice, or anything else that may be helpful!

Human Rights focused: Oak Institute

Government/Policy focused:  Goldfarb Center

Entrepreneurship/Start up: Halloran Lab

Medical/science related: Linde Packman Lab for Biosciences Innovation

Climate related: Buck Lab

Environmental Studies related: Environmental Science Department

AI/data related: Davis Institute for AI

We encourage taking advantage of these resources multiple times throughout your time at Colby! πŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ

This is just a small list of sources to apply to for funding. DavisConnects and many of these departments also have specified funds for specific purposes. If you feel that your idea may be somehow related to any of the initiatives of the centers above, please apply! We can help you see the relationship between your Social Impact/Education idea and the missions of the organizations above if it is not clear. To talk more about crafting your proposal or for any other questions, please make an appointment with Karen Macke (Advisor for Education and Community Engagement) or Scott Lamer (Director of Global Experiences – primarily Funding Advisor) via Handshake: Handshake πŸ“†
